Yes, this is real.
Swedish developer Zoink Games is making a children's "toygame" called WiiWaa. The game is controlled by shoving a Wii Remote in a stuffed animal version of the game's main character.
Then, you shake the stuffed character/monster, which then performs actions onscreen in a pretty pleasant looking platforming game.
As strange as it seems, I actually want to play it. Were it to control well and use MotionPlus (which it doesn't appear to in the trailer below), perhaps then this could be a nice foray into gaming for younger kids.
