5 Stars Wii Charge Station is a lifesaver!
The single most annoying and frustrating thing about Wii controllers is that they require batteries. Unfortunately, we were having to replace these batteries on such a frequent basis that it was becoming just too costly… and wasteful. Really wasteful. So, when I found this charge station on Amazon, I wondered if it would perform well and as promised. Happily, it does!
My children use their Wii game constantly, and I no longer need to run out and buy huge quantities of batteries to feed that beast with the insatiable appetite! I highly recommend it to anyone who owns a Wii console. You won’t be sorry.
3 Stars Its OK, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
The Dual Charge Station and Turbo Cooler is ok, but I wouldn’t buy it again if I somehow needed to.
It’s anoying to have to remove the strap and the remote cover in order to charge the batteries. The fan does stay on all the time which can be heard if you have a quiet place.
The blue LED base can be a bit overwhelming at night. I useually leave the lights off, unless I want to show it off.
The overall appearance is good though and seams to be built decent for what it is intended for.
5 Stars A great addition to your Wii collection
This is simply a must have for Wii owners. There’s two reasons why you should purchase this:
1. It’s a sleek way to not only store your Wiimotes, it charges them as they rest in the station. I was going through about five dollars in batteries a week before I purchased this. The controlers can go a surprisingly long time before they need charged again. I’ve read some reviews for Wiimote control chargers that claim the remotes aren’t as acurate with chargeing stations, and I can say that’s not the case with this one. The controls respond no different with charge packs as they do with batteries.
2. It cools the Wii console and has a sexy blue LED light. I’ve yet to hear about issues with Wii’s overheating, but I guess it’s good for piece of mind. The light emmits a very bright blue LED that looks amazing abainst the pure white Wii.
So…if you’re looking for a way to display your Wii in all it’s glory then look no further. You’ll not be dissapointed with this charge station!
4 Stars wii charger with fan
I like this charger because the remotes fit easily in the station. I bought another charger and the remotes did not fit as well. also the fan is not that loud and i like that the blue light can be turned off and on.
1 Star excellent fan, terrible charger design
I bought this when I bought my Wii as I intended to use rechargeables right from the start. I sure wish I hadn’t lost my receipt as this was a very disappointing purchase. Although the charger is very sexy with it’s blue-lit base and the fan works exactly as promised I was primarily interested in the product for charging my Wii remotes. This it does extremely poorly. The battery packs are extremely difficult to get into the controllers and I had to almost break the plastic casings to get them to snap into place. Then to make matters worse the chargers are tight deep cradles into which the controllers will fit ONLY IF YOU REMOVE THE SKINS. After tearing 3 skins in the first 3 nights of trying to charge my Wii-motes I abandoned the nice skins I bought in favor of the thicker rubber default skins that peel back without ripping. It was EXTREMELY disappointing to find that 2 such common accessories for the Wii could be so vastly incompatible with each other. I don’t know who’s to blame, but some designers somewhere should be losing their jobs. Even the wrist-straps can get in the way and prevent charging unless you jiggle the controllers around until they are sitting “just right”. In each of the charging cradles there are little metal tabs that make contact with the charging contacts on the controller (similar to what you would find on a cordless phone charger/base). Just this last week one of the contacts got stuck inside the base and wouldn’t come out for 2 days depriving me of one of my chargers. It came out a couple of days ago on its own volition, but promptly disappeared again yesterday. Surely some of these issues should have been anticipated in the design stage. And shouldn’t some of the problems have been found during testing? If you plan on gaming 12+ hours per day then this may be a good product for the fan alone if you can live with the crappy charging system, but if you’re just looking for a charger for your controllers I couldn’t recommend a worse product then this one. There are better solutions out there. I’m going to look for something better and try to ditch this on somebody who can really use the fan. Either that or I’ll take it apart and fix it myself

Wii Boxing Gloves

The Boxer Gloves for Wii are perfect for gamers that want to add a touch of reality to their gaming experience. With these gloves, you get the actual feel and work out of being inside of the ring. Youno longer have the inconvenience of holding the controllers in the palms of each of your hands. The gloves have a pouch on the backside of the hand that houses two foam cushions that are designed specifically for the controllers to rest in. This way you can punch away like a real boxer and not have to worry about clenching bulky objects. There is also an adjustable Velcro strap located at the wrists that you can tighten to fit the level of your comfort. The Wii Boxer Gloves are a perfect 1-2 combo that is sure to make any gamers, whether novice or expert, experience a knock-out.

2 Stars Good idea on paper…
Sounds like a good idea right? With the Wii, there are many customizable attachments to add to the controllers for that added touch of realism e.g. Links crossbow, golf clubs, etc…why not boxing gloves?
The problem is that these are basically bag striking gloves with a pouch sewn in and foam inserts. I noticed the following problems that this quick “port” causes;
- The glove fit tight (like striking gloves should) but that means if/when you clinch your fist the gloves will depress one of many controller buttons which of course can do things like turn your Wii off to exiting the game.
- No IR window for the sensors. The glove dramatically reduce the range and accuracy of the controllers due to the damping effect of the gloves outer shell
- No access to any control buttons. Hope you like only jabbing cause accessing that coveted “z” button for the knock punch just ain’t gonna happen.
Most of these problems can be fixed with an Xacto knife, but I decided just to sell them on eBay along with the ultra sucky boxing game I bought with it (Showtime Boxing).
4 Stars Realistic Boxing
Makes wii boxing more realistic, but a little difficult to handle connecting the controllers, since it’s inserted inside the glove. They need to make the sizing better - too big for me, and too small for the guys
4 Stars great
it makes you feel that you are really in the ring. I recommend this purchase with the boxing game.
3 Stars Better than holding the controllers
For about $20 I think this is a decent product. I took the foam out and that seemed to make the controls more accurate when boxing. I might try cutting a space in the front of the right glove so there is a better connection with the sensor bar. It’s not a super product, but it does make boxing more realistic.
1 Star Good idea…but not thought completely through
You cannot push any of the buttons needed while the wii remotes are in these gloves. Even cutting stategic holes in the gloves at the remote buttons would not really help because some buttons need to be pushed WHILE punching!

5 Stars Madden 08 for Wii
Bought it as a gift for my son’s birthday. He just started showing interest in football. He loves the game and plays it for a little while almost every day. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves to watch football.
3 Stars It’s Got Potential, But Needs Improvement
I didn’t buy it, rather I rented the game first to try. I had heard 07 had some issues that needed to be worked out and was expecting 08 to have them ironed out…so 08 was the first Wii version I’ve played. I also have 05 and 06 for my Xbox. Madden on the Xbox is probably a little more accurate, but not a whole lot more once you figure out the motions with the Wii remote. However, once you figure out the motions..and it really doesn’t take that long, this game on the Wii is so much more fun.
I’ve read from other reviews regarding the sensitivity of the controls e.g. snap to quick incomplete pass. I also experienced that a few times and yes it was quite annoying…especially on 3rd down conversions. I didn’t have a problem pressing the (1) button on defense to strip the ball, but the (2) button was impossible to reach during gameplay…I don’t even remember what that was for, since I couldn’t reach it during gameplay, I didn’t use it.
Graphics are as expected, I really wasn’t expecting 760p like the 360/PS3. And since this was a rental, I never really tried out the “Franchise” mode. I played mostly single games including a game as the Colts against the Patriots…that was pretty fun.
Anyways, IMHO, try before you buy. I’m very close to buying this, but I think I’ll wait for 09 now.
5 Stars love it!
We got to see the Seahawks play the Redskins before the big game!
Seriously, though, game was shipped quickly and we enjoy it a lot. Football on the Wii takes practice but it is much better than on the psx.
5 Stars Great
No crowds or long lines, this is the way to shop for you Mom for your son, he got what he wanted and loves it.
5 Stars Madden ‘08 Rocks
This game is worth every penny and delivers more than it advertises. My husband I were both surprised by it when my son played it!! Would definitely recommend to anyone into football or gaming!

Wii Play Game Only

User Ratings and Reviews
3 Stars Not quite duck hunt!
If you just purchased your WII, and you want another controller, then this is a nice starter game. Basically, its a tutorial on how to use the WII controller. There are several games that were fun to play, including a new version of duck hunt but I kept waiting to see the giggling dog.

Dream Pinball 3D

A great pinball game should not only be amazing from the start, but should continue to be entertaining every time you play it. This was the thinking behind the development of the newest pinball sensation to hit the market, Dream Pinball 3D, with its 6 cutting edge tables that are beckoning you to try your luck.
The monsters-themed table. View larger. |
The ‘Two Worlds’-themed table. View larger. |
GameplayNot skimping on the technology, game developer TopWare Interactive included six different style of balls in
Dream Pinball 3D. Made of different materials, they not only look different, but their ballistic characteristics will affect the very rolling behavior of each one of them. Add to that incredible acoustics, state of the art particle technology, HDRI and multilayer 3D sound, realistic tilt function and motion blur effects, and you have the best pinball experience yet available on the Wii.
One Game but Many Ways to Play
Whether bellying up to your favorite machine at the local arcade or plopped down in front of your Wii, a huge part of the fun of any pinball game is variety and action in the tables you play. Dream Pinball 3D has this covered with its six playable tables. Each has an entirely different look, with a partial list of these including: aquatic, monsters (zombies, vampires…), and dinosaur and Two Worlds (game publisher SouthPeaks’s hit role-playing game) themes. Each of these also includes at least one extra pair of flippers, in addition to the standard pair. This makes for unpredictable fun and boundless replayablity, whether you are already a pinball wizard or a wizard in training.
Features
- 6 tables with various themes
- Multi-ball with up to 3 balls at once
- Sounds and music with brilliant lighting
- Multiplayer mode for up to 4 gamers
- 6 dynamic and one fixed camera position
- Pinball simulation game with realistic physics
- Balls made out of 6 materials such as: steel, gold, marble, ivory, oak & walnut

2 Stars You get what you pay for — not much!
This is a $20 game, so remember that. A $20 game is not usually as good as a $50 game. This proves the theory. You have six tables for $20 so that sounds like a bargain, but sadly the joke is on us. I WISH I had waited for other reviews before spending my own $20 on this game but sadly I didn’t.
The game had potential, but it just fails.
The tables are hard to see and the camera is so slow sometimes if the ball rapidly moves from the top to the bottom of the table, the camera doesn’t catch up in time for you to see where it is, so if you don’t react with an instinctive flipper press, you could just lose the ball because you couldn’t see the bottom of the table in time.
They tried to create a “realistic” effect by adding a reflection of the back glass onto the surface of the pinball machine, but it is just distracting. Some of the flippers are so hidden you can’t even see where they are until you activate them. The sound effects are annoying and repetitive (I know it’s pinball, but still) and the amount of free balls I got in one game was insane and I wasn’t even trying that hard.
I only gave it two stars instead of one because this wasn’t a full priced game, so for $20 it has a little value. But once you play for more than an hour total, you will be about ready to get rid of this trainwreck. It had potential, but it falls far short.
Stay away and like others said, get the Williams Pinball game for a much better time!
3 Stars HD cables made a difference
We purchased this over the past weekend, and played it on our 42″ tv with no issues. The graphics are intense, and the flashing lights can be distracting.
However - you can turn down the ‘bells & whistles’ so it is easier on the eyes. Also, we have the Wii HD Pro Component Cable and this seems to make a significant difference in the video. (not just on Dream Pinball, but all of our Wii games!)
We spent several enjoyable hours playing.
1 Star Simply Horrid
I’ll be brief.
The physics are wonky - the flippers feel like that old Space Cadet game that came free with Windows.
The smart cam is nauseating…and you lose balls because half the time the smart cam can’t keep up. Full table view is an option but then you can’t really tell what you’re doing because the tables are busy and the graphics are muddy.
Table layouts are completely uninspired.
If you want an EXCELLENT pinball for the Wii get Williams Pinball Hall of Fame.
1 Star Dream Pinball
I waited for this game to wanting a good Pinball game and when it got here boy did it suck. You can play it but it’s not a good game at all. Hay! spend your money on Beer because you will have more fun.
1 Star Yep it’s horrible
This game has been delayed for months and months. They must have been trying to work the kinks out. My disappointment after the long wait still makes me wonder how horrible this game must have been before they supposedly worked the kinks out. This game is so bad, and my excitement prior to playing it so high, that it reminds me of the times in the 80s when I would look forward to NES games based on movies I loved that would turn out to be horrendous such as Back to the Future. This game is an incoherent mess. Shame on everyone involved for releasing it. For a good (and addicting) Wii Pinball game, I suggest Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection. It’s not perfect, but it seems like a masterpiece in light of “Scream” Pinball 3d.
