Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles Story Unveiled

Featuring gameplay footage of Leon and Krauser working together

Back when Capcom released Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, many were skeptical, believing that it was just a quick way for Capcom to cash in on a well known franchise. However, the game scored well critically, and skeptical ones realized it was actually a solid entry into the Resident Evil series.

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is its sequel, and will continue where Umbrella Chronicles left off. Using the same mechanic of exploring a particular character's back-stories, Darkside Chronicles centers around Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica.  It also adds a brand new chapter just unveiled recently at Tokyo Game Show.

This new chapter centers around Leon Kennedy and Jack Krauser, and it explores a period of time before Resident Evil 4.  Instead of trying to kill each other, the two were actually partners in this scenario. Detailed in the video is a mission to South America, where they are in search of a girl named Manuela. She is the sole survivor of an outbreak that has erupted in her village.

Capcom shows off some graphical power in the trailer, showing richly rendered environments, and impressive in-game graphics. The South American level interestingly resembles the environments found in Resident Evil 5, and could possibly stir up the whole "Could Wii handle Resident Evil 5" debate again.
