Did you forget about your membership in Nintendo's premier loyalty program, Club Nintendo? It doesn't matter, because you're no elite member. At least, not by Nintendo's standards.
Club Nintendo's annual cut-off for elite status is approaching fast. The deadline, which is June 30 (in two days), signifies the end of the Club Nintendo "year," where members' elite statuses are reset.
By then, members need to fill out as many surveys and register as many goods as they can to make the Gold and Platinum member statuses. Doing so results in "premium" rewards, which will be announced at a later time.
After completing a few surveys myself, I found that Nintendo sneaked in three "bonus" surveys, all of which expire on June 30. These center around general things like the Wii system and Nintendo Channel experience, and offer 20-30 coins for each survey completion.
We definitely recommend prioritizing these surveys over individual ones for games. The expiration date for most game surveys is years away, so you can always save some for the next Club Nintendo year.
Last year, gold members received a calendar as a premium reward, while platinum members had the option of an exclusive WiiWare game (Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!) and a plush Mario hat.
What will this year's prizes be? I'd bet all my coins on a complete Mario-themed stationery set or a unique DSiWare game.
Head over to club.nintendo.com to fill up on coins and reach the gold or platinum elite status.
